French Gothic Architecture was one of my favorite architecture movements in Art History class, right after Baroque and Rococo. I was taken by the level of detail from the structures, in particular the doorways which I wasn’t able to capture in this shot, as well as the portal of the Virgin Mary that the cathedral was dedicated to, with a stunning glasswork that can be better visible from the inside. Notre Dame was one of the best examples of those! They named the door the Devil door as rumor has it that it would be stuck unless sprinkled by the holy water. I was mind blown when I actually got to stand there and observe the details in person. One of the most astonishing artworks in the architecture world I’ve seen!
